Weaknesses in academic areas can contribute to taking a considerably long time to get through assignments, as children may need to re-read material several times, may have difficulty recalling facts or procedures, and may struggle to organize or generate ideas on paper.

Read aloud to help process when reading
Underline or highlight key points to reduce re-reading
Provide an example at the top of the page for the child to use as a reference
Teach the child to create note cards to help organize material
In college, consider recording lectures or using a SmartPen with Echo; approval for use would need to be obtained by individual professors
