About NRventions

Introducing a resource for parents, teachers, and professionals to find tools, games, apps, and strategies for addressing common areas of need to help children succeed

An Assessment-Intervention Matrix (A-I Matrix™) is provided to help develop a Practical Individual Plan (PIP).  The PIP can supplement accommodation plans, IEPS, and evidence-based interventions or can be used as a stand-alone for students who do not need access to the formalized programs.

7 Practical Interventions to help Kids Succeed (PIKS) have been codified by Dr. Susan Hill and linked with 10 areas commonly assessed in evaluations (building upon the foundation of Dr. Dan Miller’s School NeuroPsychology Conceptual Model).

7 PIKS:  Homework, time management/organization, test-taking, focus, self-regulation (meltdowns), social / emotional / motivation and academic skill

10 Assessment Areas:
Verbal reasoning, nonverbal reasoning, language/auditory, speed, memory, attention, executive functioning, social/emotional, sensory-motor, achievement
