Achievement & Focus
If an academic achievement area is weak, then concentration is often vulnerable in that particular area, though not when the child is doing assignments in other academic areas.

Complete the academic area of difficulty at a different time than other academic areas, tackling the hardest area at time when the child is the least tired
Allow independence for work completion in other academic areas, but provide assistance and/or remain in close proximity for the area of difficulty
Try to schedule the “hard class” at a time that is best conducive for the child; for instance, if the child is a morning person and has a weakness in math, then try getting up early to do math homework or try to schedule math class as the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd period in school
Work a little bit each day on academic assignments that are difficult rather than for a prolonged period in a single day
